[Action] - A day after Apple's post

[It's not that Snow White didn't see Apple's mental breakdown request over the amulet.

It's that she didn't know what to do.

Because how could she have let this get this far? How could she not have noticed that Apple wasn't eating well, wasn't sleeping well?

But as she said to Apple, placing blame doesn't get anything done. It only makes the one who places it feel better. Although Snow White didn't think she would be feeling better any time soon until her daughter was well and healthy and happy once more.

She had a tray of all of Apple's favorites... even... even an apple pie which was the first one she had made since the incident but it was for Apple's sake. She was going to make sure Apple ate everything on the tray until there wasn't a crumb left. She knocked on Apple's door.]

Apple dumpling? Please open up.

[No response at first - not verbal, anyway. There's shuffling, moving books and papers, trying to tidy up very quickly. A splash of water to clean her face, hide that she'd ever been crying. An open window for fresh air. Only then does she take a seat, and speak.]

The door's open.

[She hears all the shuffling the movement, she hears the window being opened and then opens the door at Apple's bidding. She smiled warmly.]

I have a surprise for you.

[Apple looks up, smiling weakly. The smell hits her first, and her eyes widen in surprise.]

Is that what I think it is...?

Now, it might not be as good as my other pies, I haven't made it in a while. I used only green and yellow apples just to be safe.

[Because red apples are still "A THING" with her but she managed this far!]

I know it's one of your favorites.

Oh, mom...

[That makes her stand up and walk over.]

You didn't have to go through all that extra effort, I know how uncomfortable "those" make you...

I did, and I don't mind. So long as it means you'll eat.

[Because she does worry for you Apple. She sets the tray down on the table with care, making sure none of Apple's papers get folded or bent.

She knows what they say because she knows what that announcement yesterday was about. She bites her lip and looks back to Apple.]

I would do anything for you Apple, so long as it meant you were healthy and happy. And I seem to be unable to notice when you're neither.

[The guilt strikes hard, and she looks down, unable to meet Snow's eyes.]

... Maybe that's because I always try to hide it when I am. I didn't want to worry you.

[She slices a piece of pie and plates it, holding it out to Apple.]

You know, Apple, I worry more when I don't know what's wrong. I may not always be able to help, but I can always listen.

But that's just it... Telling you will make you worry even more, and make you feel helpless all the more.

[But she takes the slice.]

I want to protect you.

Yes, and I appreciate that you want to protect me, but I worry far more when I don't know what's going on, when your very healthy deteriorates.

Apple, please... I worry far more when you're not well and stressed. Perhaps I can help, but neither of us will know until you tell me.

[She sits on the bed.]

Did you get to meet Daring Charming?

Oh yes! He was quite sweet and taught me a fun little phrase. "Go with the flow" isn't that adorable!

[She doesn't want to say the exact thing itself, so.]

... We... we're in a lot of danger. And it's really scary, and I'm afraid we can't stop it.

[Her fingers clutch her dress.]

... Headmaster Grimm said that if we don't follow our destinies... we'll all vanish. And Daring told me that your stepmother, the Evil Queen... she was released from her prison, and corrupted our destinies. Which means...

Well, that certainly seems plenty reason to be frightened.

But... when does this vanishing happen, exactly?

I'm not sure when exactly... but it must be seconds before Daring arrived. In fact, being here is probably what saved his life. He was picked up at the exact second my destiny went wrong.

... He wasn't the one to kiss me awake from a poisoned sleep.

So it happens immediately, this disappearing?

Apple, perhaps, though, his kiss doesn't work, because he isn't your true love.

Maybe the poison itself mixed up everything... Given who did it, I guess she didn't want a repeat of what happened before.

[Although 'why' still boggles her. Why would the Evil Queen want everyone to vanish - including herself and her own daughter?]

Now, when, exactly do you vanish?

If my mental calculations are correct... probably a few seconds after I wake up. Headmaster Grimm didn't say exactly how long it would take, but that would be right where destiny is altered.

Alright, so then, wouldn't you have vanished the moment Raven said she didn't want to hurt you?

I... can't say this with any pride, but my stepmother never hesitated. Wouldn't that make your destinies different already? And yet you remained around, healthy and fine.
